The Symmetry Of Difference
Each jurisdiction carries its conditions and constraints. Further occurrence remains uncertain. A physical configuration and its readable representation meet through an explicit observable map.
This guide fixes the mathematical meanings used in the welcome. Each construction carries its own domain, reference and evidence.
Reference and difference
01Fix a state space X, a reference state x₀, and an observation map ρ into a real vector space V. The readable difference is measured in V:
Notice registers the comparison; attention fixes the reference and the observation being used. Equal readings identify agreement at that reader’s resolution. The underlying states and their occurrence addresses remain separately recorded.
At the declared reader resolution, identity is equality of the reported values:
This equivalence defines the reader’s classes. Noticeable difference means distinct reported values. The state representatives and their occurrence addresses remain in the record. For observations without vector subtraction, specify the comparison relation appropriate to their output type.
Symmetry of the comparison
02Let a group H act on X by transformations Th, and on V by linear maps Sh. If ρ(Thx) = Shρ(x), the difference transforms coherently when both states undergo the same operation:
This is equivariance. When Sh preserves a specified metric, the measured distance is invariant. A fixed center reference c ∈ X additionally satisfies Thc = c for each operation under consideration. These are stated properties of the action. The action, the reader and the quantity retained determine the symmetry being recognized.
Configuration and representation
03For a spatial scene displayed on a surface, declare a configuration space 𝒞₃ and an image space ℐ₂. Their subscripts identify the spatial scene and display; the configuration and image spaces can each have many coordinates.
The map states what the representation resolves. Reconstruction requires specified calibration, measurements and identifiability conditions. A two-dimensional image can carry evidence about a three-dimensional scene within those conditions.
Occurrence, memory and continuation
04A receipt records the reference, observation, operation and evidence for an occurrence. Appending it to a finite record retains the prior entries and the new receipt:
Endurance requires the evolving system to remain within its stated admissible conditions while carrying the record forward. A repeated reading can therefore accompany a later occurrence. Historical computation resolves the relations supported by the measured record; future occurrence remains uncertain.
Enough: the stopping condition
05Fix the task, its required relations, its evidence and its reader resolution. Correction stops when those requirements are satisfied and the reader reports zero required correction. The occurrence receipt remains available for return and later comparison.
In Mirror Recognition, this condition is called Silence at the returned reference. The oriented difference and its receipt remain in the complete packet. A later measured difference can require a new correction under the same declared conditions.
